Tourism Spending By Country: 2011 report

Germans spend the most money touring and sightseeing beautiful places such as Paris, the most visited city in the world.

According to the official statistics, Germans and Americans, having strong economies, continue to occupy the top spots at number one and two respectively. The Chinese have surpassed the British, now at number four, and have taken over the third spot.
France continues to occupy the fifth slot, and Canadians have now taken the sixth spot, formerly occupied by the Italians, who have slid to number eight. The Japanese and Russians have maintained their spot at number seven, but the most surprising newcomers are the Australians, who have knocked the Dutch out of the top ten.

Out of the top ten countries, only three countries spend in Euros, which means that presented prices in local currencies should be an important part of your business plan. Not only should a website have versions in multiple languages, but also in multiple currencies. Prices should be shown in at least the top five currencies: Euros, U.S. Dollars, Chinese Renmebi, British Pounds, and Canadian Dollars.
